The confusing part is that the serial number that I found between the tuning pins does not in any way fit the serial ranges I've seen listed all over the Internet. This is just a guess, though, and the reason why I'm asking here in the forum. Because it was used, that certainly suggests it might be older than the 1950's era Hardman Peck's (built then by, so far as I've read online, Aeolian). What I know so far is that my great-grandmother bought it used in New York in - we think - 1957. I'm always fascinated with researching the history and age of such things and this piano has become a bit of a challenge. In the process, she has also given us the piano that belonged to her mother (my great-grandmother) and we're quite thrilled to have it. My grandmother has just moved up from Florida to live near the family here in Virginia.
